updated for 2010
1. Any weights, wheels, or safety equipment lost from tractor while hooked to sled will be cause for disqualification. If weights drag on ground although they may still be attached to the tractor, pull will be disqualified.
updated for 2010
2. If a tractor goes outside boundary line it will be disqualified and will also lose repull option even if it is before the 60-foot marker. The one exception to this is if the driver indicates his/her intention of a repull by raising one hand before they cross the repull line or go out of bounds before the repull line, they may still exercise their repull option. An example is a front or rear tire touching the sideline chalk mark. That would be considered out of bounds.
3. Any tractor starting without the green flag will be disqualified.
4. Any tractor jerking the sled during starting or shifting will be disqualified. Sled operator will make the decision.
5. Arguing with the officials is grounds for disqualification. As volunteers, they do NOT need or deserve that aggravation. See rule eleven (#11) of Contest Rules.
6. Arguments or tempers or whining displayed at a pull will mean disqualification.
7. Obvious or excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages or drugs will be grounds for disqualification.
8. Careless driving while hooked to the sled and pulling, in the pit area and along the track at any time will result in disqualification for that pull.
Rules Compliance Inspection
updated for 2010
1. Any tractor placing in the top five may be protested by any competitor within the class. The protestor must put up $100 cash to be held by the rules group until the inspection is completed after the event. The protestor as well as the protestee will be checked for rules compliance. If the protestee is found in compliance, he/she will receive the $100. If the protestee is found out of compliance the cash will be returned and the protestee will not be allowed to hook until again until the tractor can pass the inspection. If the protestor is found out of compliance, that tractor will not be allowed to hook until again until it can pass the inspection.
2. A person declining a protest inspection or failing an inspection will forfeit that pull's winnings and will not be allowed to hook for the following two events. If they wish to resume pulling after that, they must pass the inspection before they can hook.
3. Two strikes and you're out. Two failed protest and the tractor will not be allowed to hook the remainder of the season.
4. The inspection will consist of, but not be limited to, the following:
Flatheads
A. Stock - Remove head, measure bore and stroke and valve size and lift. Turn head upside down to check combustion chamber. Remove air filter and inspect carburetor. Remove carburetor to check intake port.
B. Sport Stock and Stock Altered - Remove head, measure bore and stroke and valve size and lift. Remove air filter and inspect carburetor.

added for 2010
5. Anything in plain sight found to be illegal will also be acted upon. If you don't want the tech officials to see parts of your engine that is not involved with the tear down process, cover it up.
6. The protest inspections are separate from the safety inspections. A protest pass or fail will not be based on safety related equipment. Any tractor at any time may be prohibited from hooking due to safety compliance issues.
