2008 WIGTP RULES

General Rules
1.   Sled not responsible for any accident.

2.   This is a garden tractor pull. No motorcycle, snowmobile or automotive engines etc. Sled owner and referees will decide whether a tractor will be allowed to pull. Sled owner and referees reserve the right to reject any tractor from pulling.

3.   All drivers will sign a waiver of liability.

4.   There will be a Driver's meeting thirty (30) minutes before each pull. All drivers are required to attend.

5.   Only the drivers and a minimal pit crew will be allowed in the pit area.

6.   Spectators, curious by-standers, non-participating shop talkers, etc. ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE PIT OR TRACK AREA.

7.   There will be no super tuning except in the pit area.

8.   New pullers and tractor builders please read all these rules and if you have any questions contact us. If you show up with something that doesn't fit the rules or raises safety concerns, you may not be allowed to pull. See rule two (#2) above.

Contestant Rules
1.   Each driver will operate his/her tractor in a safe manner, and in such a manner as to be in full control at all times, both in and out of the pit area.

2.   Drivers must be old enough and physically able to operate the tractor solo. If they are under 10 they must also have a parent or guardian walk down the side of the track with them in case of an emergency. No one under the age of 15 will be allowed to compete in the Stock Altered class.

3.   Drivers must have at least one hand on the steering wheel at ALL TIMES.

4.   Drivers must keep both feet on the footrests.

5.   Drivers must remain in contact with the seat at all times.

6.   Drivers must stop immediately when the red flag drops.

7.   Drivers will be allowed to lean forward or backward and side to side to make adjustments.

8.   No one other than the driver will ride on any pulling tractor when it is moving, whether being towed or driven.

9.   All pulls must start from a tight chain.

Contest Rules
1.   A puller may have more than one tractor in the same class.

2.   Pull order will be determined by drawing. A number or card will be drawn for each tractor entry. The order will be reversed for the heavier weight class.

3.   Two minutes maximum time will be allowed to hook to the sled. If a breakdown cannot be fixed in the allotted time, the tractor may drop to last position. This will be STRICTLY ENFORCED.

4.   False start is 40 feet from the starting point. Any tractor stopping before the 40 ft. mark may retry ONE time.

5.   If a tractor comes down "in bounds" that tractor is not disqualified.

6.   When weighing, the driver must be sitting on the seat.

7.   If the sled operator brakes the tractor, the pull is measured at that point.

8.   There will be one flag person. Their decision is FINAL.

9.   Tractors will be allowed one pull per class with a maximum of 2 pulls per event with the following exceptions. A "Powder Puff" class may be added at the end of the event, time permitting. The "Powder Puff" class will use tractors from the Stock class, 20 hp maximum, and pulling at 1050 lbs maximum. Classes or number of hooks may also be reduced depending on tractor turnout. Either of these exceptions would be announced at the end of signup.

10.   Signup will start one and one half (1 1/2) hours before event start time and will run up until one half (1/2) hour before event start. There will be NO LATE SIGNUPS! It is imperative that these events start on time and the people doing the signup have things to do before the event begins. Having signup end thirty (30) minutes before the event start will also allow decisions to be made about the previous rule (#9).

11.   First puller in each class will weigh and have their hitch measured as they come off the track. Any tractor pulling farther than anyone in their class before them will be weighed and measured as they come off the track. Maximum weight tolerance is ten (10) pounds. Zero (0) hitch height tolerance. So check your weight and hitch before you hook and leave yourself some room for error. We recommend five (5) pounds under the class limit. You've been warned. If you chose to weigh closer than that, do so at your own risk. The scale does not discriminate. If it's off, it's off for everyone. So DEAL WITH IT! (FYI: this is how the scale was run in 2005)

12.   Pull ends when forward motion of sled stops or goes out gate.
